About

Early settlers of Huntstown (Ashfield, Massachusetts) trapped bear in large numbers. When Heber Honestman did not return home after going out to check on the traps he had set, other residents went to search for him. They found him caught in a bear trap, "badly maimed" and permanently disabled.
